They say that no news is good news, and there’s a lot of merit to that sentiment. You haven’t heard about a terrorist plot in a while. That’s generally a good thing. It’s easy to forget or overlook things when times are good, but the lack of terrorist attacks does not represent a shortage of effort on their part.
In fact, a major attack was foiled no less than a week ago. And, it was planned to strike at the very heart of American morale.
The Plot
Demetrius Pitts is a recently converted Islamic jihadi. He’s been living in Cleveland, Ohio for a number of years now, and that is where he centered his terrorist plot.
The FBI had been tracking him, and they were finally able to make a move last week. They caught him, literally red-handed, making homemade explosives. He intended to use them at a July 4th celebration in the city to murder as many innocent people as he could.
Authorities have not been fully forthcoming on all of the details of the plot, but speculation suggests that they are currently looking for accomplices. So far, Pitts is the only publicly stated suspect, and he has been arrested. Just to recap, the FBI foiled this terrorist plot only days before it went into action.
A Growing Trend
That brings us to an important question. When was the last terrorist attack on U.S. soil that you can remember? Some might mention the San Bernardino shooters. The mainstream media refuses to acknowledge that as terrorism, but there were certainly plenty of jihdist elements to the story. If you don’t count that, you have to go back almost 20 years to find a successful case of terrorism.
There have been plenty of failed attempts. You might remember the shoe bomber. We still have to remove footwear at airports as a result. There have been plenty of other poorly concocted schemes that have completely failed.
The one thing we haven’t heard or read is the success of a major attack on our own soil. Have terrorists decided that they’re pro-America? Have they come around to our side? The increasing frequency of attacks in EU countries suggests not. They’re still quite anti-western ideology. That can only lead us to one conclusion: our antiterrorism efforts are working.
Giving Due Credit
This is why Trump’s travel ban is important. The terrorists who have successfully murdered the masses in Europe posed as refugees. Multiple times. Rather than respond with xenophobia or racism, Trump simply restricted travel on the basis of unbiased data. It falls in line with similar efforts to prevent terrorist hotbeds from infiltrating our country. The scoreboard doesn’t lie. We’ve been winning the war on terror.
But, this goes beyond travel bans. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was established in response to the 9/11 attacks. Their success record is almost incomprehensible. While much of what they do is classified, the lack of news tells us that things are working, and better than we have anticipated.
Yet, despite all of this, the left still wants to abolish ICE, which is a division of the Department of Homeland Security. They want to destroy Guantanamo Bay and basically put our heads in the sand as far as international policy is concerned.
They look at European methods and see an increase in successful terrorism. They then compare that to the unparalleled success of U.S. efforts and decide to steer us towards the European mistakes?!
At this point, the open border policies of the left are built on one of two possibilities. They either refuse to acknowledge the unquestionable proof that terrorists exploit weak borders or they genuinely want to see mass murder and destruction in America. It’s hard to say which is worse.
Then again, that’s always the story of the left. They are either incompetent or evil, and either way, they represent nothing but death and destruction for our people.
It’s important to fight the urges for hyperbole. It’s imperative that we don’t allow our conversations to sound as stupid and over exaggerated as those coming from the left. But, it’s impossible to look at the state of terrorism in the world and not get angry. The jihads are still in full swing, and there are plenty of organizations left to bring harm to America.
The left has fought Trump at every level. They tried to keep him from destroying ISIS. They sued his efforts to prevent terrorists from having free access to our country, and they are demanding that we dissolve the organization that has a perfect record against terrorism. Evil or stupid, it doesn’t matter. They just have to be stopped.

That’s too bad that the MSM is not wanting to write about the FBI foiling a plot to bomb a 4th of July event in Cleveland, the FBI needs all the positive news on their side right now, due to the upper echelon of the FBI being found to be so corrupt.
