Gun Control Advocates Will Never Be Satisfied
Dealing with liberal ideologies is like a never-ending gauntlet of clichés- and we’re the ones spewing the clichés. It’s a lot like becoming a parent, you find yourself saying all those annoying parental catchphrases that your parents said to you over and over like a broken record.
In this instance, the clichéd catchphrase of the day is, “Give ‘em an inch, and they take a mile.” That being the case, you might have guessed by now that we’re talking about the incessant assault on the constitutional protection of our right to bear arms.
After the shooting in the theater in Aurora, CO the left made a major effort to ban high-capacity gun magazines. Now the law is on the books, and a bunch of people lost their jobs because of it, and as usual, it’s not being enforced.
A person might almost get the impression that the non-enforcement of gun laws is part of the gun control formula. After all, we have plenty of gun control laws on the books already, and we always have. But when criminals commit crimes that the law should have stopped, but didn’t because the law wasn’t being enforced, then the liberals come out calling for more laws.
If we would just enforce the ones we already have on the books, such as investigating suspicious people, many of the shootings of the last few years would never have happened.
Now, so-called “red flag” laws have been going on the books all over the country. These laws make it a simple thing to deprive any single person of any legally owned guns he or she may have. All you have to do is call the police, say the person is acting strange and you’re worried he might whip out one of those deer rifles and use it for evil. From there, the police only have to inform a judge who can give the cops permission on the spot to confiscate the man in question’s guns.
There’s absolutely no due process with red flag laws. And the person who had his guns taken then has to prove that he is sane and not dangerous. FYI, it is logically impossible to prove a negative, and that means the judge could theoretically prevent the man from regaining possession of his guns forever.
These laws are going on the books in states and counties all across the country. The advantage they have, from a pro-gun-control perspective, is most uninformed gun control advocates won’t even know about them. That’s because they work from a place of fear and ignorance.
So, any time a gun-related crime occurs, the legislative-worshiping left assumes the proper laws are not on the books. Then they cry out for big brother to protect them with more laws, making more forms of infringement of the second amendment “legal.”
Of course, we know, the Constitution is our foundational law. That means all laws that infringe on our right to keep and bear arms are illegal. That’s something all patriots should always be mindful of.
In short, all gun control is illegal. Federal, state, and local governments that inhibit our right to bear arms have been illegally infringing our natural and constitutional rights.
Even as we speak, gun control advocates are calling for deeper, stricter, more draconian prohibitions on your right to bear arms. They do not understand the facts, and they do not care about what’s right. They are simply engaged in the worship of Government power, and there is no end to the restrictions they will ask for next.
