Follow the Money: Bloomberg’s Campaign to Take Your Guns

There are only three and a half weeks left until Election Day. Thanks to all of that nonsense with Kavanaugh, the Republicans across the country finally seem motivated to vote. That’s important because this election will determine whether or not Trump can continue his string of wins.

In at least some ways, the Democrats have learned from their string of losses two years ago. Instead of just assuming that the country will vote the way they want, they have selected strategic campaigns and poured money into them. When you follow the trail of money, you’ll learn what issues matter most to the left. You’ll also learn that they are every bit the disgusting hypocrites you always feared they might be.

Overall Spending

The left loves to claim that politicians are in the pocket of the NRA. When you see the actual spending, you too will dispute this claim. For every 2018 election combined, the NRA has pledged/donated $700,000. That money has been spread across a number of campaigns.

To be completely fair, the NRA has also helped raise money for candidates that it supports. Their fundraising efforts have added $2.7 million to campaign contributions for a grand total of $3.4 million in total spending. The left will tell you that it’s enough to buy every politician in the GOP, but how does it compare to other efforts?

Michael Bloomberg is one person. He runs a few different campaign organizations, but most of his donations to politics are funneled through the Giffords PAC. This includes everything he runs through Everytown for Gun Safety. This group has put $5 million into House races so far. So, a single anti-gun lobby has outspent the NRA sevenfold. Even if you include extra fundraising, a single anti-gun lobby still dwarfs the spending of the NRA. Who is really buying the politicians?

Jason Lewis

A little perspective goes a long way. Bloomberg and pals have decided that the most important race this year is in Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional district. This is a race between the Republican Incumbent Jason Lewis and Democrat Angie Craig. Lewis’ entire campaign has been valued at less than $1.36 million. Some of that money might include donations from the NRA, and the left has reamed him for it. The combined total of NRA contributions to his campaign was a staggering $8,000.

On the other side of the race, Craig has raised $1.7 million for her campaign. You might think that she just did better fundraising, but $1.3 million of her campaign funding came from the Gifford PAC. If $8,000 puts Lewis in the pocket of the NRA, how beholden to Everytown for Gun Safety is Craig after receiving 76 percent of her total campaign funding from them?

More Key Races

This is anything but an isolated incident. Republican candidates across the country have been targeted by the left for NRA contributions to their campaigns. The largest single contribution ever made by the NRA was to Roy Blunt in 2016. The total was $11,900. Hypocrisy is no longer a strong enough word for these liberal monsters.

Meanwhile, they are pouring money into a number of races to try and make Congress a little more anti-gun. These are the candidates they have targeted.

Barbara Comstock is running his first incumbent race in Virginia’s 10th Congressional district. She has an A rating from the NRA, so of course the left hates her. Since VA has been trending blue over the last few elections, the Democrats want this particular race to be a statement for 2020.

Michael Coffman has been the Representative for Colorado’s 6th since 2009. He was an open supporter of concealed carry reciprocity. Aside from that, he has been one of the most bipartisan Representatives in the House. Why would the left care about that?

Cathy McMorris Rodgers is a key Representative in Washington. She has been serving since 2005 and has been one of Trump’s most consistent supporters. She was among the Representatives who voted in favor of repealing and replacing Obamacare. She’s an important member of the GOP.

Steve Knight and Mimi Walters are two of the last remaining conservative voices in the state of California. The left sees this as a blemish on their bluest stronghold. Both of these Representatives have consistently protected gun rights, so the left is ready to get rid of them.

These are the five races that seem to be the most important to gun-hating leftists, and all of Democrats in these elections have received millions from Bloomberg. This is one billionaire who is literally trying to buy control of the House of Representatives, and the left praises him for it.

The next time someone tries to tell you that the NRA is corrupting Congress, show them these numbers. They’ll probably break down into a tear-filled rage since that’s how leftists handle facts they don’t like these days. Most importantly, vote in these midterms. We’re fighting an uphill battle, and we need to win it.

Vote, Republicans!!! It won’t cost you a dollar to vote. However, not voting could very well start costing us one of our rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment.
Encourage your friends, family members, neighbors and co-workers who share the same rights guaranteed by the Constitution to get to the polls and vote Republican.
If you or others cannot get to the polling place on Election Day then vote absentee. Just vote, our freedom is at stake here.
